The ability to guide students in their quest for knowledge is a rare trait. Combining those necessary skills with my passion of fine art, allows me to enrich students' growth in and outside of the classroom.

The art room holds the power to teach students not only the elements and principals of design, but also powerful habits and qualities essential to being a well rounded member of society. In addition to teaching visual art standards and their relation to both contemporary and historical works, I am strengthening students' problem solving, creative thinking, observation, writing, and discussion skills.

Art education is about exploration and expression. Everyone should feel included in the art room and know it is their own creative space. Students can escape their hectic schedules and slow down in the art making process. This assures that students will all be able to participate in assignments and express themselves freely and without fear.

I inspire my students to want to learn more, to try new processes, and to strive to always improve. For all of these reasons and the knowing that I play a part in one child's success is why I am a fantastic art teacher.
